I got these headphones because I wanted to avoid buying products with plastic and I liked that the materials used in making this were recycled. I was disappointed that the packaging still had some plastic in it, so it wasn’t truly a “zero-waste” purchase, which was the whole point for me. I think they’re also vegan, which was important for me, as I’m vegan. The headphones’ sound is crisp & clear, with a balanced sound when it’s working. Many times I only get sound through one side and it crackles a lot when I’m playing the piano, which is troublesome because I can’t hear all the notes I’m playing. I have to keep tapping the headphones, moving the cable around or myself (or I have to sit completely still in a weird angle and barely make any movement while playing the piano, which is hard to do, in order to get it to work properly) and plugging it and unplugging it to see if the sound comes out through both sides. In honesty I don’t know if it’s the headphones doing that but the previous headphones (and the adapter) I used for my piano didn’t have that problem of sound coming in to one ear only and crackling, so I have to assume the problem is being caused by these headphones. I’ve never seen anything to adjust the sound level on these, which is the reason for the 1 star rating on that part. I adjust the sound on my piano. I ordered these on Amazon because the Bob Marley website ran out, but please pass on the suggestion about eliminating the plastic from the packaging. When they do work properly, I love these. They’re comfy and do block some sound out.

    Update April 30th, 2022:
The crackling and uneven sound has persisted. It’s definitely a problem with the headphones. They also don’t work when I try to plug them into other devices such as my laptop or cellphone. Not sure if my set was just defective. Hope they construct these better in the future.

Greenwashing!!! I don’t think there is really anything sustainable about this product. Listen, the sound quality of the headphones isn’t bad at all, and the headphones are really loud (which is good). Being someone who cares about the environment, purchasing items based on their environmental impact, the headphones do not live up to its sustainable value proposition. Maybe the headphones are made from “sustainable material”, but the packaging is far from sustainable. The plastic packaging honestly killed my “excitement” around the products sustainable commitment. I would recommend changing the plastic packaging into something like paper/cardboard. Also (as seen in the picture posted above) the ear pads are starting to become damaged in the first month of use.

When I first got these, I was pretty impressed. For $50, they seemed like a decent headphone for casual use. I liked that the materials were all recycled and/or sustainably sourced. I liked the fabric cable. However, my impression has only gone down from there. Upon trying the headphones, I realized the bass is quite lacking. With no EQ, I felt like my ears were being stabbed with the treble. However, there was a surprising amount of clarity, so I figured I would give EQ a shot. There are very thin margins you can work within before it sounds completely muddy. I finally found a sweet spot of sorts that I felt like created an inviting sound without losing any quality. I used the headphones at my desk for about three months, and quite frankly, they’re falling apart. The adjustable headband now moves freely, even when the clamps on the sides are shut, although those don’t really stay shut very well. When using the headphones, the drivers cause popping and creaking noises in the plastic housing, which distracts from whatever is playing. The ear pads also seem to have warped at some point and no longer stay attached. Also, they were never very comfortable to begin with. Neither was the headband, which I ended up covering with a padded headband cover I had laying around. But I wouldn’t put any money into making these more comfortable or last longer. The only thing that’s still in good shape is the cable.

These are so light, they’re comfortable with glasses AND multiple upper ear piercings.

My old Marleys would start to cause discomfort at about an hour. These new ones it’s 3hrs! They’re so much lighter.

They also have a smaller over the head band for those of us with small heads, old ones I had to wrap to make them fit better. Age 7 hats fit my adult head, finding things that are small enough is a frequent problem.

My last Marley headphones have last me about 10yrs until I finally broke the cable, these ones have a replaceable cable so kinda feels better value already. As you’d expect from the age, old ones have worn off ear padding coating, only real wear to them. Don’t let the price fool you into thinking lack of quality, they’re quality is worth way more than price.

The sound quality is awesome, as I’d expect from this brand. I can “feel” the vibration.

They fold up like the old ones, really convenient for storing.

    2 kinda cons for me.
1 No pouch with these (live with feline cable destroyer) but I can use the old pouch.
2 Not available in rasta colours, disappointed considering brand

19/04/23 EDIT: I’ve had a good chance to try these out now. I have to say, if your mental health depends on music as an escape, these are gold! I can feel and hear music. Plus, my neighbours still like me!

Great product. Headphones sound great and feel great. Too bad i was shipped what looks like a used set or a poorly mishandled set and charged new price for it. Headphones came with some gnarly staining, scrapes and dings like somebody who was working drywall was kicking them around. Had a received a fresh pair it would have been a 5 star

After my 8 year long musical listening companion, and survivor of many climates and altitudes, became no longer fit for service (an awesome pair of Sony MDR-XB400s), I found myself looking through Amazon for a new quality pair of reliable headphones.

    I wanted something simple:
    – A balanced frequency response (get that “ADDED BASS” trash away from me)
    – Wired so I don’t have to charge them
    – Decent quality build
    – No microphone

Off the bat having just received these headphones, here is what I have to say straight away, in reverse order.

If you’re like me and you want to use your phone for talking, whilst hearing whoever you’re taking to through your headphones, then these are great. Yes, they come with a cable that has a mic attached to it… But the cable detachable! Get yourself a separate 3.5mm to 3.5mm, 0.5m cable, throw that other one to the side, and you’re left with a basic set of headphones – NICE.

The build quality is decent and they feel like they’ll last well. I do think a Y-Split cable would have been better so you’re not depending on the cable that travel through the headband to stay strong, but that’s just my opinion based off my old headphones. Also, the good thing about the cable being detachable is that you can replace it easily with a stronger cable. The included one, whilst braided, feels flimsy, so I highly recommend doing this if you think it’s necessary.

It is wired, as expected… because it says they are!

Sound quality… It bass heavy, lower midrange heavy, and the treble is weaker in comparison to the occasionally muddy lower range. If you would like to feel like you’re going over bumps in a car on every 1 and 3, then you’ll love these, but if you’re looking for a balanced response with clarity in the highs, these are not for you and don’t consider them unless you don’t care that much.

Who knows, maybe they’ll mellow out eventually as some headphones you do have to break in.

After some time I’ll update this.

Every time I’ve had to speak In a work meeting, they tell me they can’t hear me or I’m cutting out so I have to unplug my headset and use my laptop mic.
It sucks because I work in a shared office and it’s annoying when people are on speaker imo.

I needed a new set of headphones to go with my amplifier for hard of hearing. The set that came with the amplifier would get uncomfortable after a while and so I started looking for a replacement. These headphones fit the bill nicely and are very comfortable for wearing over long period of time. The sound quality is great and I am hearing everything a lot better.
