Everything I wanted and nothing I didn’t want.
This has all of the necessary hardware features I was looking for without the million Microsoft and other company add-ons. It has a few, but no big deal.
Touchscreen has had a slight malfunction when the computer goes to sleep and then I go back into the browser where it doesn’t register the touch in the correct space. I close the browser and re-open and it goes back to normal.
Battery life is great, adjustable brightness is great, low key appearance is good for me, no trouble connecting to anything so far.
Easy to use, perfect for small business, work from home, and home use.

Purchased the Ideapad Flex 5 16″ R7-512GB laptop version while it was on sale on Prime Day for $699. So far I am overall happy with this unit. The screen quality is very good for a lower to mid budget laptop and colors are vibrant enough. Touchscreen works great as well. I like the idea of the flexibility of changing between laptop mode and tablet mode. The 16″ screen size in tablet mode is great for watching movies and other random entertaining things, but if your goal is to use it for note taking or similar, it is a little on the larger side and would recommend the 14″ instead. My main purpose is to use it for travels and remote work via remote desktop, so the additional real estate on the screen was important for me for my engineering work (CAD and programming).
Since I also have a need for multiple monitors when stationary, I went ahead and also purchased a cheap off-brand USB-C docking station from Falwedi on Amazon. I was able to expand to at least 2 additional monitors, resulting in a triple monitor setup, one 24″ Dell 1080 and another 27″ Dell 2K. I did however get some issues where the external monitors would blank for a second or two occasionally, but not yet sure if this was due to the current drivers on the Ideapad or the off-brand docking station. Something I will need to investigate further at a later time.
Sound quality from the speakers is just ok. There is no base, which I wouldn’t expect from a lower budget laptop anyways. The camera worked decently and clear, which is sufficient for most video conferences anyways.
The fingerprint reader works flawlessly and makes login into Windows and other biometric supporting apps super easy.
I am however surprised on how heavy this unit is for being a new modern 16″ model. Reminds me of my 10+ year old Toshiba brick. Another drawback is that the pen or stylus was not included with it and is sold separately.
There is no ethernet port and for those that want to utilize wired connections, will need to purchase an additional dongle.

So the computer itself looks nice. And it has a pencil that comes with it which is also nice. It has a fingerprint reader, which is also nice. But I don’t know where the power went to. I charge it to 100% and then shut it down and then the next day when I turned it on it was at 50%. It said I had 1 hour and 27 minutes left to the battery life. And I didn’t do anything overnight with, so I’m questioning where the power went to? So as I said, it has a fingerprint reader, but every time I turn it on spin, asking me to enter a pin number or password. If I have a fingerprint reader, that should be one of the options initially. I did set it up with my fingerprint before going through all that other things about the password. It’s a good enough computer. It just has some quirks. And all the time is asking me to put in a McAfee subscription or to buy one. I can’t tell you how many fake emails I get every day about some McAfee subscription or some Norton thing I don’t really know who to trust. So that’s kind of annoying. But I did buy it to replace an older computer and it has done that.

Boots up quickly. Enough RAM for me. Touch screen is very responsive. No complaints. I don’t play games on the computer or do heavy task. So I can’t give any details in that category. I just use the laptop for watching videos and everyday day tasks. Battery life is pretty good as well.

I bought with many doubts because of comments here. I choosed the most powerfull 16GB 512SDD and Rysen 7700, 16″ screen…
1) The quality materials are rights
2) The speed boot is awesome (10 seconds)
3) The fingerprint reader and backlight keyboard works perfect and they are awesome
4) The performance overall it’s great (I need to test the embebed video yet with a game)
5) The screen it’s really good. Excelent definition BUT a little bit reflective and perhaps need a little bit more NITS if you think to use outside.
6) The model that I’ve choosed it’s toooo heavy but, I selected a 16″ because this one it’s not gonna be my mobile laptop
7) The HD Camera is soso, I have a Dell Latitude 9000 series too for work and the diference between this HD (works like 380 and not 720p) It’s a lot vs the 1080p Camera of the Latitude. BUT this was not important for me
8) USC C work awesome. I’ve and external extreme SSD and works at 700MB/s I was impressive about that.
9) The keyboard and touchpad feeling are ok.
So… I’m extremly happy of this selection.

The wifi card in the one I bought seems to be faulty but a usb wifi dongle seemed to fix that issue. I bought this for drawing ( the touch screen and included pen are awesome for this, as is the fact you can fold the laptop completly open to use as a tablet pc. You will just need a good drawing program) and some minor gaming (m)Mostly for Mechwarrior 5. Runs great on medium settings) and it excels at both, granted your not gonna be playing anything really taxing on it, but itll run most current gen games on the low to mid end. Does not run cyberpunk however… Gotta knock a star off because of the wifi issue though, and the fact it has windows 11.
